homemade GLuten-Free Chili Powder

With basic spices in your kitchen you can make chili powder in minutes.  Use this homemade gluten-free chili powder with recipes calling for chili powder.

Most single spices are gluten-free but the spice blends and packets often contain wheat or gluten along with other additional ingredients and chemicals we want to avoid.  Making my chili powder only takes 2 minutes!

Ingredients:
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2-1 tsp cayene (if you want this on the hotter side go with 1 tsp)
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients into a glass mason jar with lid or spice jar like this
2. Shake jar to mix well before use.
3. Store in a cool, dry place 6 months to 1 year.

Notes:
  • Making your seasoning blends allows you to control the quality of your ingredients you add to your dishes, ensures they are gluten free and saves you money!
  • Spice blends are fresher because you make the blends in small or large batches depending on your needs!
