Savory Garlic & Onion Gluten-Free Waffle Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup Gluten-Free Sourdough Discard (unfed starter) at room temperature
- 1 1/4 Cup Oat Milk
- 10 tablespoons Melted Dairy-Free Butter
- 2 Eggs or Bob's Red Mill Egg Replacer
- 2 Cups Jenn's 1 to 1 Gluten-Free All- Purpose Flour or your favorite Gluten-Free Flour Blend
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
- 2 tsp Oregano
- 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
Directions
1. Bring sourdough discard to room temperature
2. Pre-heat waffle iron.
3. Melt dairy-free butter and let cool slightly, you don't want to cook your egg in the bowl.
4. In a mixing bowl combine sourdough discard, oat milk, egg, and dairy-free butter, and whisk well.
5. Add gluten-free flour, baking powder, and spices to the wet ingredients and whisk to incorporate. Don't over whisk.
6. Pour batter onto the waffle iron with a measuring cup. Cook until the waffle is easy to remove. (I don't use cooking spray or additional oils on my waffle iron).
